(MK: Welcome to the Sen. Weicker Papers Project! ;-) I just finished writing the finding aid for that ENTIRE row, all hundred linear feet of data. There's only about six more rows to go... And I only had the boxes tumble out on me three times.)As of late, we have had plenty of reason to avoid the world outside. Whether it be classes for grad school, freelance work, or the ol' full-time job, we've been something of an insular people.
We did brave the impending storm to eat kabobs and walk around Glenmore with my dad last night in the bitter cold. And now, shortly after the last traces of our recent gargantuan storm have faded, we awake to this:
P.S. In breakfast news, it's as if the heavens have opened up and pancakes are coming out! Praise be to the saints of butter and batter... (MK: And praise Ashley, who got us the pancake pen that makes neat pancakes possible; linking to that pen got my mind wandering about the possibility of waffle/pancake hybrids, though, and now I see myself wanting another 10" pan for the collection!)
P.P.S. We haven't yet mentioned braving the floods to see Dr. Faustus last week in Staunton at the Shakespeare Company. Aside from Shakespeare quivering in his grave thinking of his players performing Marlowe, we were properly entertained like good groundlings. Of course, we were nostalgic our school Shakespearean-themed trip across England lo those many years ago, and remembered our unit on Marlowe in AP English. What nerds! It wasn't The Santaland Diaries, which we were snowed out of seeing in December, but it was a fine substitute with good company and some Baja Bean'in for good measure.

Well, we haven't had the snow, but we have had bitter cold. Enjoy the warm indoors, young scholars, and the occasional forays to the theater, provided it's warm!
ReplyDeleteThe pancakes sound like manna from Heaven. Enjoy!
