Typically, I'm the writer and he's the editor, but something about that arid landscape has inspired lyrical prose from our esteemed guest blogger, J. Hopefully he'll continue to update us as my parents hike along the Great Basin's Navajo sandstone trails, continuing their tradition of autumnal desert southwest traversing.

St. George is one of the nicest small cities I've ever seen. Sedona-like rocks and cliffs, plus Mormons. Windy as all hank, but its only supposed to be about 72 today; yesterday's high was 102. But it's a dry heat, kind of like when you open the oven to see if the cookies are done. We are off to Zion, and how many times have you been able to say that and mean it? Reports will continue, and pos photos. Ciao.
