At this point, no blog updates = good news and the absence of natural disasters. ;-)
The smoldering outside has (seemingly) subsided and the smell both in the apartment and outside is diminishing. You don't even want to know what Ben cleaned out of our air filter, though...
In the meantime, the best news is that we've secured our summer sublet (phew!) and will be happily relocating away from the scorched train tracks and the deafeningly squeaky floor boards at the end of May. We'll have a view of the Blue Ridge from our balcony, professionals for neighbors, and a nice new dining room set.

There's even a movie theatre in the complex and a "car care center." What's not to like? Brush fires, please avoid Avemore this summer!
