Greetings from the Northern Road

It's late, and we're exhausted from a long, very fulfilling day with friends. It's that good kind of exhausted, though, when your body wants to close her eyes but your mind wants the day to never end.
We're not saying life in The Valley is always perfect, though we sure lucked out with today's weather, food, company, and comforts. Friends!

Familiar places! We were happy to spend the late afternoon playing in the Puffer's Pond mud, even if it meant dunking them into the icy mountain runoff near crazed, rock-throwing kids.

Yesterday was a fine day, too. Here's a view from my lovely grandmother's porch, taken after our ice cream jaunt.

And the day before that wasn't too shabby either. We entered civilization with a bang (a sushi & pizza bang, I suppose), and stayed plenty happy and satiated the rest of the day, thanks to blueberry coffee cake, asparagus pistachio pasta, a long Gentry walk, and delightful podcasts.

There's no place like home.

More soon. We've got to rest up for tomorrow's great adventures, which involve visiting our old farmer's market and taking in Crafts on the Common before beginning the trek downward. For now, make sure to keep your ionizers on "stun."
