Just like we both didn't realize Arizona's questionable national reputation prior to our Great U-Turn, neither did we know that Virginia, our fair commonwealth, is basically considered a murder capitol where criminals and those with grudges could get instant access to weapons.
Consider, for instance, last year's beheading at Virginia Tech, last semester's multiple missing VT campers, or the gunshots we heard many nights at our old apartment. And how could I forget the shooting of our neighbor, which resulted in a discarded gun thrown into the communal laundry room?
Which leads us to this week. Everything local is all gun rights, murder, murder, probably murder, and a bit more murder. Oh, and extreme flooding followed by an upcoming weekend winter storm.
