Grillswith More.

We've officially broken in the new apartment: we had our first houseguest! Jenna, our longtime pal, stopped in on her way from Atlanta to DC for two nights. During that time, we laughed, we thought great thoughts, and we ingested Charlottesville's most famous dessert. What more can we ask for?

This is a Grillswith from the White Spot on the Corner in C'ville.

I refuse to elaborate. If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand. Ben's employee handbook first introduced us to the concept, and we've been waiting for the right opportunity to try it for ourselves.

Happy, happy, thirst-inducing times, worth the six-month wait. ;-) Apparently, other joints in town make a competitive dessert. We shall soon embark upon further Grillswith odysseys.

Matching laptops and deep conversations involving the Logos and liturgical interpretation. All the cool kids have them, right?

Our MySpace-esque attempt at travel photography. Poor TJ, standing stoically with his nerdy cohort, is innocently beheaded. Later, a kind tourist offered to take a photo for us, sensing our troubles; I have yet to see that image, but I suspect this one better sums up our experiences at Montpelier under the cast of thunder, complicated historiography, and friends reunited.

Ten years ago this week, Jenna and I fatefully moved into dorm rooms only a few feet apart. Now, we can't really imagine life without her. And since I've tried a Grillswith, I can't really imagine life without that either. See? J-Faith leads us toward good things.

  1. Now that, in theory, I'm free to eat "normally" again, I must try this culinary delight called a Grillswith when next we're in C'Ville. That will be the ultimate test of my newly streamlined digestive system.

  2. Streamlined digestive systems lead to expanding waistline systems, I reckon.

  3. Not so far, actually. I'm down almost 20 lb. from my beginning-of-summer weight. Beyond the mostly IV diet in the hospital, I suspect it's at least partly due to the fact that the streamlining is at the back end of the digestive system.
