Civic Lessons

We haven't yet gotten up the nerve to try the celery soda, which we're mostly justifying by thinking we need bagels to go along with it. I can't believe, with all our time in NJ, we never noticed it before.

Celery? Good. Soda? Great. Celery Soda? Nasty crap. So says the person who *loved* bubble gum soda as a kid. Details once we try it.

And, in other news, we must be truly settling in because I got a library card today.

This is in preparation for an interview tomorrow; I needed to check out some books in order to seem fluent and well-informed! Keep your fingers crossed that I come across as articulate and publishing-minded.

Ben, who already has a job, is liking it just fine. He had a day of HR training yesterday, which involved Power Point presentations and a chauffeured tour of campus, and today he got to the office bright and early with a packed lunch and pressed clothes. All the better to fit in with the Stepford undergraduates on campus, of course.

  1. Congratulations on the new library card, the emblem of an informed and engaged citizen. Jefferson would be proud. Of course you will be articulate. Nature will out.

Cel-Ray soda---agreed, nasty stuff, although some love it, I hear.

As for Ben's "look", remember the rule: Dress for the job you want, rather than the job you have.
