Almost resting!

Let's just say that it it always good to return home triumphant:

After we slept off the aches from moving Matteo, it was time once more to hit the road.Where could they go next? To the magical ocean-side retreat owned by Kathy and Dave, Meg's aunt and uncle.

At the beach itself, Karen discovered the USO (unidentified sinking object) at the crux of the next X-Files feature film.

Kathy and Meg were smart enough to stay near the open water, near to 10-foot sharks, used syringes, and undetonated munitions from WWII.

All of the gallivanting in left us, well, hungry. While some opted to ingest more Rita's Wooder Ice, others took a gamble on an even-more-local ice cream parlor. Eventually, all roads led to Rome.

While this may appear uneventful, it is because you can't hear Ben on the phone in the booth behind Dave talking in crazy accents to would-be prank callers about funeral homes and the city morgue, egged on by Kathy and Karen, of all people.

Following our shore excursion ("down the shore"), we opted to head up to Montclair and points nearby for some hiking. There we found a place near the river that catered toward children and the childlike.
It brought out the child (and nonhuman animal) in all of us--especially SamSam!

Delicious milkshakes awaited us at the retro-Diner housed within the West Orange Whole Foods.

Today has been crazy busy with phone calls, errands, and the like. Who knew that moving across the country twice in one month would leave so many odds and ends to take care of?

  1. Glad to see you got some beach time.
As for "odds and ends", they are the very stuff of life, unavoidable and unending, but they are the canvas on which we paint the portraits of our lives.
